Safety 1st Update Safety 1st S Update ince its 2008 launch, the NATA Safety 1st program has grown to be the most widely-adopted, general aviation, ground handling safety and operational train- ing in the world. A quick glance at our FBO Status Map (www.fbostatus.com) will show you over 3,000 FBO loca- tions around the globe that meet the requirements to be designated as Safety 1st Qualified. However, it doesn’t end there. Hundreds of other locations utilize parts of our pro- grams in conjunction with their own in-house training. Since moving to online delivery, Safety 1st has delivered its training in a per-person, per-program format model that has helped companies reach new heights in training their teams. Earlier this fall, we introduced an exciting new way to utilize our industry-leading programs, the NATA Training Subscription. With an NATA Training Subscription, a company pays a fixed annual subscription fee based upon the number of team members they would like to train and receives unlimited use of all NATA Safety 1st training programs. This new option was driven by comments from our members and users, providing a number of benefits for ground handling companies both small and large. Fixed Training Cost – The subscription program allows a company to plan and budget a fixed amount for training every year. Employee turnover will no longer lead to increased costs for training new-hires. Simply make the IS-BAH Update The International Standard – Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) continues to see increased adoption in the United States and around the world. It is expected that nearly 40 companies will achieve IS-BAH Registered Status by the end of 2016, with many more on track for 2017 registration. IS-BAH is a joint product of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and NATA and sets a single, world- wide operational safety standard for general aviation ground handlers and FBOs. IS-BAH is a valuable tool for any ground handling location that seeks to achieve and maintain a high level of effective safety management. IS-BAH registration also allows your organization to highlight its safety commitment to potential customers in a concrete easy to communicate fashion. IS-BAH does not replace Safety 1st . Rather, IS-BAH and Safety 1st Qualified and IS-BAH Registered!” are perfect complements to each other. The quick- est way to show potential customers that your organization takes safety and training seriously is to say: “We are Safety 1st outgoing employee “inactive,” then add your new employee and start training. Reduced Administrative Cost – Under the current model, every time one of your team members needs training, a staff member has to spend time purchasing and assigning training through our online portal. With the subscription program, all NATA Safety 1st training programs are included; if one of your team members needs a course, they simply login and start that course. Increased Access to Training – For a number of reasons, including budgeting and cost, some small and mid- sized organizations are unable to take advantage of the wide array of training programs provided by NATA. Under the subscription model, a trainer’s focus is on what programs will best meet their needs and budget. The NATA Training Subscription program provides access to all of our programs including the Professional Line Service Training (PLST), Supervisor Online (an FAA authorized 139.321 supervisory fire safety course), the Customer Service, Safety and Security program for FBO CSRs, our full suite of 18 OHSA courses, HAZMAT training, De-icing and more. The NATA Training Subscription option is now available to all Safety 1st users. Contact [email protected] for more information or to enroll.
