Castle & Cooke Aviation Continued from page 39 acquired by Castle & Cooke Aviation over a decade ago. “Even though the competitive issues differed between Everett and Van Nuys, we still had to market the old Flite Line FBO under the Castle & Cooke Aviation brand,” Marlow stated. “We kept all of Flite Line’s employees, refurbished the facility, provided new uniforms to our line service people, and changed the signage.” The Everett location has one hangar and five tenant aircraft. At Honolulu International Airport, Castle & Cooke Aviation, like Van Nuys, was a new entry into an existing market, competing with Air Service Hawaii and Bradley Aviation (now Signature Flight Support)—as it does today. Once again, it was a matter of letting people know they were there. “Unlike the other locations, our Honolulu FBO caters to a different market in which high-end, long-range business jets are typical, given Hawaii’s location,” he explained. “We offer the same hands-on approach to service; but, because our customers have been on an airplane for a long time, we try to make their arrival experience more personalized.
